A Secret Attack

Atomicon (the company and the music project) has just released a 7-song EP of original electronic rock, entitled “A Secret Attack“. Some of the tracks on this EP have been kicking around our hard drives for years, and one of them was literally produced in one day last week. We’re not telling which one.

Current Projects

Since returning from the Casual Connect conference in Seattle last month, we’ve wrapped up scoring for an “edutainment” cartoon from Renegade Animation (we’ll post video soon, hopefully), started in on a new series of game effects for our stock library, and begun building an ecommerce platform for our licensing library. Look here in coming months for a super-easy shopping cart licensing store!

Currently working on music and audio for a animated web-video produced by our friends at Burchworks, and we’re close to the final push on our super-secret project. Announcement to follow some time soon!

Umpqua Bank Spot Posted

Secret Lab & Codezone Game Audio

We’re currently working hard on music and sound design for two game projects – an upcoming game intended as a companion piece for a development book co-written by the folks at Secret Lab, and new music and sound effects for the third installment of the Code Zone’s popular game “Pop Pies”. Can’t say much about them at this point, except that both games will be available in the iTunes app store, and may even end up on an iPad or two…

The Ramp Champ Original Soundtrack is now available on iTunes! Released by Atomicon in association with The Iconfactory and DS Media Labs, the album contains sixteen original tracks from the hit iPhone game Ramp Champ, including two remix versions, and a never-before-heard bonus track. Composers Noe Ruiz, David J. Weiner, and Mike Weiser contributed tracks written specifically for the game.

Compression, the newest game with music and sound design by Atomicon, has been released in the iTunes app store. The game was produced by Little White Bear Studios, makers of the ever-popular Tanzen and Zentomino, and marks a new direction for the developer. Atomicon helped create a tense industrial feel for the game with original music and sound effects. Check it out here!

Ramp Champ Soundtrack to be released!

Atomicon, in partnership with the Iconfactory, will be releasing a full-length soundtrack of the hit iPhone game Ramp Champ. The album will include 16 tracks of original music from composers Noe Ruiz, David Weiner, and Mike Weiser. This will be a digital-only release, but will be available on all the major digital retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, eMusic, and Napster. Rolling release dates are expected to begin in February of 2010.

The newest iPhone game from the Iconfactory, “Pickin’ Time” has been released in the iTunes app store. Atomicon did a country/bluegrass score and sound effects. It’s a fun game for the whole family! New Schaffer the Darklord album available!

Nerdcore sensation Schaffer the Darklord has released his latest album, Manslaughterer, on all the major online retailers, including CDBaby and iTunes. Atomicon founder and composer David Weiner (aka Dave Famous) wrote beats for four songs on the album, including the tracks “Arrival of the Fittest”, “Psyched”, “Scorpio”, and the stand-out track featuring MC Lars, “Monsters of Rock”. The Iconfactory released two new add-on packs today for their popular iPhone game Ramp Champ. Atomicon scored the Halloween-themed pack, which contains two new ramps – “Trick or Treat”, and “Grave Danger”. These were a lot of fun to score, with spooky Vince-Guaraldi styled jazz and some Tim Burton-esque cinematic creepiness!

Fairlady Media’s Spazzle II: Disco Blitz has been released as a free version. Atomicon did all the music and sound effects, 14 tracks of fabulous space disco!
uDevgames competition winners M2H (aka Wooglie) released their new game Bomb Factory on the iTunes app store, with music by Atomicon.
Atomicon is getting underway with a new project for Umpqua Bank, being produced by our buddies at Headache Films.

Ramp Champ released!

The new game from The Iconfactory and DS Media Labs has finally been released on the iTunes app store. It’s a take on the old carnival “skee ball” type games. Atomicon contributed the main menu music (a carnival calliope piece), and an arrangement of Vivaldi’s “Spring” from the Four Seasons concerti, plus we did the music for three additional add-on packs. We really had a lot of fun working on this project, and it’s one of the best-looking games we’ve seen on the app store. Here are some screenshots to prove it:

Pentanimals released

Another game with music and sound effects by Atomicon has been released in the iTunes app store – Pentanimals, created by Little White Bear Studios here in Oregon. This is a kids’ version of their popular Zentomino, also with music and sound by us. Check it out!

New site launched!

Here’s the new Atomicon site, created using the magic of Wordpress. (Thanks, open-source software!) Anyways, gone is the old Flash-based site. Although it was very cool, and I had a lot of fun designing it, it proved too onerous to keep updated, so blog format it is. We’ll be adding some new game reels soon, and maybe a few more commercials and/or films, but for now there’s enough to keep people interested (I hope). Drop us a line and tell us what you think, or leave us a comment.

Starting work on several new games

We’re beginning work on music and sound effects for the iPhone game Toobz, by Off Center Software, and also a new game from Little White Bear Studios, a kid’s version of their popular game Zentomino. We’re in discussions with the Iconfactory for a new game, too, since we just finished their upcoming game, Ramp Champ. Games galore!
